Time stands still as the faces twirl around your bubble You're in slow motion as they dance and laugh Your face is ridged and smiles are forced Stare in the distance and pretend you belong You want to leave, but can't explain your reason You wish you had their energy, their spirits But yours is drained as you take another sip Weight falls down while others are floating in carbonation You want to vanish like over exposed film Nothing but a ghost of what once was A ghost of yourself, or better, who you thought you were I wanted to write you this night letter For you wont be able to read it until the light dims I wanted to write you

Is that your voice I hear, because I can feel a chill in the warm air. Ghost of haunted past resurrected to see me standing. You whisper my secrets into the wind in hopes that I'll remember the things I've repressed. Demons dance and angels turn away. The sun sets and the stars forget to shine. The lonely wolves cry and I find myself running. From nothing, from no one, from my shadow. Because I fear the thoughts that live in the night, and I haven't quite figured out how to escape them.
